Portrait James Lord

The writer and biographer James Lord came to Europe as a GI and returned after the war to Paris, where he met Giacometti. In 1964 he published a highly illuminating account of the genesis of his portrait, followed in 1985 by his comprehensive, meticulously researched and therefore largely reliable biography of Giacometti.
